Almost like an Annual General Meeting (AGM), but better! We’ll be honouring our volunteers and their endless contributions and support in making the DCMA so great! Student Art Show featuring the very best talent from 7 local and area high schools including Westside Secondary School, Orangeville, Orangeville District Secondary School, Orangeville, Mayfield Secondary School, Caledon, Erin District High …School, Erin, Humberview District High School, Bolton, Banting Memorial High School, Alliston and Centre Dufferin District High School, Shelburne is on display at the Dufferin County Museum & Archives. If you’re a student whose art work is a part of this show, tell us when you get here and we’ll let you in for free! Local Rosemont resident Christopher Corradini, currently at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, studying Archaeology and Canadian History has been at the Dufferin County Museum & Archives for a few years now. He started here while still in high school through a co-op placement. He came back to us as our archives summer student in 2007 and has been returning to this post faithfully ever since. Chris also spent the past year working part-time on DuffStuff which will be launching in 2013 - watch for it!
Welcome back to Chris Gard. Chris currently is studying Financing at Lake Forest College in Illinois. Remember the name, as he’s likely to be a future NHL star! Returning back to the Dufferin County Museum & Archives this summer as our grounds summer student who on any given day can be found outside on one of these machines making the grounds of the Museum look spectacular!

Look who’s back at the Dufferin County Museum & Archives this summer working as ‘Curatorial Assistant’ … Sarah Robinson. Sarah, who is a graduate of the University of Guelph and currently at Algonquin College for the Applied Museum Studies program gets right to work creating labels for our 2012 Corn Flower exhibit.

Annual Student Art Show opens Mother’s Day weekend on Saturday, May 12. Be sure to drop by the Dufferin County Museum & Archives and remember to pick up your ‘People’s Choice’ ballot to vote for your favourite piece of student art. Awards will be presented on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17 @2pm during the Awards Ceremony.
